TOES AROUND BAR WITH PULL UP

The best sequence to target deep core muscles as well as work on my pull ups. An absolute killer!!!

PERFECT YOUR FIRST PULL UP!

These can be performed with an overhand or underhand grip. An underhand grip(chin up) can be used to target the back as well as biceps, while an overhand grip will predominantly work the back.

FOCUS ON THESE 3 MAIN EXERCISES

1. DEAD HANGS WITH SHOULDER SHRUGS

These are vital for developing grip strength to perform the pull up. Shoulder Shrugs are important to build strength as retracting the shoulders should initiate the pull up.

2. BANDED PULL UPS

Start with a heavier resistance band and gradually progress to a lighter one. Aim for the 8-10 rep range. I recommend these over using the assisted pull up machine, as it allows full core activation, replicating the body weight pull up.

3. NEGATIVES

Jump up to the bar and lower the body as slowly as possible. Aim to pause throughout the pull up.
